The key to operating a reliable IT system is a proactive approach to system maintenance. Preventative maintenance ensures that your systems are updated, checked and tested on a regular basis, reducing the likelihood of failures and ensuring that systems are performing well.
Our preventative maintenance service is tailored to the needs of each customer. A comprehensive checklist of the works to be performed is completed at each service, and the results of each service are compiled into a report that also contains observations and recommendation to improve your systems over time.
Some of the key tasks that are included in our preventative maintenance service are:
- Review of the operation of the backup systems, including a restore of data and confirmation of the ongoing operation of disaster recovery procedures.
- Review of the operational logs of the server systems, noting any issues that require remediation and essential operating characteristics including free disk space, memory utilisation and processor utilisation.
- Updating of the firmware of the server systems and related components, and of any specific devices that require regular firmware updates.
- Updating of the server operating system and applications, including application of patches and updates.
- Review of the operation of content protection and filtering systems, including verification of the updating systems and related configuration details.
- A check of network equipment including the testing of network performance to ensure it meets benchmarks, and tidying of the network cabling.
- A visit to all staff terminals to briefly confirm the operation of the terminal and provide users with an opportunity to raise any technical issues they have experienced.
